"With the Slash cd- 17 songs out of the gate, all damn good. And still they bitch & moan about it being too long. *sigh* Only IF the songs aren't all worth it. In this case--they are. A few listens brings it all home"
You still going on about this? Seriously, Terry, I shouldn't have to tell you this, but...
Here's a thought! What if people don't agree with you that all 17 songs are all damn good? A few listens don't bring it home!
A cd where you like 9 out of 11 songs is a great cd....a cd where you think about 40% isn't very interesting is not a great cd. Therefor a cd with 17 songs, where you skip 7-8 songs, you'd probably not call excellent. That's why it is too long for most people. If I were to burn my own CDR of this album I'd keep about 40% of it....but that's just me.
So, no...the songs aren't all worth it (IMHO) and I wouldn't call it bitching and moaning when people offer their thoughts about an album - once - where you go on and on in post after post about how good all songs are. Different strokes and all.....just accept it.
You have to see a difference between talking about an album as an entity and talking about song by song. I find it hard to call an album where I like 50% of the songs essential.
