Terrible? Embarrassing?
I agree with the first post in this thread. This does sound a bit like "Hell Patrol" (off of Priest's heaviest album ever with Halford), mixed with some of their stuff from the mid-2000s to the present. It's definitely in the Priest vein...just as most of Sabbath's "13" was in the Sabbath vein...heavy, crunching, plodding...
Halford can still belt out the vocals amazingly well and what is he now? Like 62? I don't see what's not to like about this song. It may not be the best they've ever done, but it's strong.
Priest may not be Five Finger Death Punch or whoever else the heavy metal kiddies listen to these days, but this is just fine by me.
I don't think Priest is vying for the top of the metal pyramid at this stage of their career, but kudos to them and for Sabbath and for Motorhead for still delivering great metal music all these years down the road. I certainly don't think they're embarrassing themselves!
