Re: Discovering music you haven't heard

Great topic, amazed of the quantity of good stuff out there - and like others I tend to find more forgotten gems from the 70's and 80"s than new music. These days I'm in a 70's mood, and recent discoveries include more obscure stuff like Bodkin, Freedom and such....
Another interesting question regarding this matter is; how do you discover (to you "new" music, regardless of release year) music?
I search the net for the most part (forums, blogs, encyclopedias,YouTube and to some extent check out spotify's recommendations) get tips from my friends online and mates and I buy magazines - and from reviewers I trust I oftenly check out if the review tickle my musical tastebuds.
The time of going to the record store and listen to music to decide if you''re gonna purchase or not is over. More convenient these days of course, but some of the "charm" and excitement got a little lost along the way.....
My God I'm getting old....
