Sweeney Todd (both incarnations 1st w/Gilder 2nd with Bryan Adams)
Gary O (O'Connor) (80s pop/aor ...Strange Behaviour w/ shades of 45)
Dalbello (for the adventurous....awesome vocals akin to Kate Bush ...strange hi tech/rock ...incredible songwriter ...her songs have been covered by artists diverse as Heart & Queensryche...."She" is a classic)
Works & Wall of Silence (both hard rock/aor classics)
Simon Chase (debut produced by Emmett...thankfully re-issued on cd in the mid 90s by Long Island...avoid the second cd "Witch Dr"at all costs)
Everest-debut cool pomp aor
Champion featuring Alex Machin (good pop aor/rock)
Wayne Smart (both albums singer songwriter meets Jovi)
Paul Laine (awesome debut "Stick it in your Ear)
Rockhead-s/t (Bob Rock's band)

Eight Seconds -Big Houses & Almacantar (Hi tech classics)
White Wolf
Point of Power

Seventh Son (similar to Company of Wolves )
Virgina Storey (Benatar/Aaron style aor)

Cinema Five-Bend the Sky (great pop/aor indie akin to Glass Tiger & debut era Haywire)
Pumps-pre Orphan (good 70s early 80s power pop/rock)
Shayle-Standing in the Shadows (pure aor)
Micheal Fury--(pre Refugee Myles Hunter includes some early versions of Refugee tunes)
Goddo
you may also want to check out Q-107 Homegrown Lps (basically a Toronto based rock radio station yearly unsigned band competition record...early lps included early songs/demos by Goddo,Santers,Honeymoon Suite,Brighton Rock,Partland Bros,Regatta,Simon Chase (& plenty of others)
Canadian albums most in need of a cd release are;
Refugee-Affairs in Babylon (the 2nd "Burning form the Inside Out" was released limitedly in the US)
Harlequin (all albums....although Love Crimes, their best was released in Japan)
all the Nick Gilder stuff
best Canadian re-issue this year must be Zappacosta's s/t debut ( a classic by all accounts...hi tech singer songwriter aor it has everything... great vocals, production & songwriting...it has funky songs, good ballads, rock songs with power chords ie It's all Been Done Before & I'll Give it A go ...I forgot what a great record this was ...I even remeber Kerrang giving this one a great review when it came out in 84.
also Helix-Long Way to Heaven (nice to have that on cd finally)
Those are a few off the top of my head that were missed that I like ( I am sure there are others)
Hope that helps a little bit
Steve (from Toronto,Canada!!!)
