I apologise for starting another off topic thread, but as I have been somewhat out of the loop for the past three years as regards TV viewing - and knowing what knowledgeable folk we have here - I'd be grateful if you would pick out some of the best (Sci-fi based) series from the past few years that I should start buying the box sets.

It would also be great if you could explain why you are recommending them to me...
