mini rant on the state of music

I need to vent about this and I know you guys will understand.
A few weeks back the SNL musical guest was this chick called Lana Del Rey. I watched her performance, having zero idea who she was, and thought she was horrible - not only is her style of music not my thing, she was just a bad performer.
There was a whole lot of brouhaha online with people trashing her and others defending her... and then today I see this article. The part that's making me insane is this:
"I actually felt good about it. I thought I looked beautiful and sang fine ..."
That's where her priorities lie, of course, how she looks. How she performs is obviously way down the list of things to worry about.
Yeesh.
