Yeah isn't Tom Jones about 70? I've never been able to stand the guy, but the last 3 albums he's put his name to have been some of the most refreshing "new" stuff i've discovered... and the old codger can still play at all the major festivals, on the major stages and hold his own, better than alot of the "next big thing" bands that you never hear of again one year later...
So age is kinda irrelevent... although that said... David Coverdale is 60 and sounds absolutely shocking... and Ian Gillan must be about 65... but then to me he's always sounded awful... maybe rock singers just fuck their voices more than pop singers or crooners...?
No scratch that... because soul singers like Paul Young or Aretha Franklin sound bloody terrible these days and they never really rocked in their careers!
