Hey James Rock,

yeah i know parking in Wolvo is a nightmare, but still better than Brum! IMO. If the multi storey car park opposite the Civic ain't no good for you there are two just off broad street one by the slade rooms and one opposite The Planet Nightclub, and the uni carpark by the island for the multi storey is now open as a pay and dispaly carpark - Free on Sundays! so pray for gig days to be sundays!!!! hahaha

To me the obvious choice to replace JB's is The Robin, Fantastic sound it's all nice and shiny and posh inside. With it not been a city centre venue like JB's means parking is a lot easier as it has it own reasonable sized FREE carpark at the rear.

Unfortunatley The Robin is unbelievable popular with Blues/Prog and tribute bands a tour organiser would need to be on the ball and early to get the dates they really want there. But to me it would be the logical replacement and i know for a FACT Mike is interested in getting more styles of Rock at the venue - but it needs to get a rep amongst tour companies and organisers for the style of bands they are touring. Mike recently put on Epica & Symphony X so is hoping more metal bands will appraoch the venue. Apparently Mike was blown away by the success of the Epica gig! we just need the same for Melodic Rock/AOR - got me fingers crossed Danny Vaughn or TYketto play there next year as this would be a massive boost in getting more similar bands in. Mike ain't oblivious to scene either having Jeff Scott Soto at the old Robin in Merry Hill a couple times way back when.

Cox's yard in Stratford is meant to be a nice wee venue, does a good trade i believe!

Hey Coookie,

not a fan of the Queens Hall myself, even though Nuneaton is closer to me than many of my fav venues! The Kasbah is meant to be a very good venue, never been myself, might be to Kerrang generation for melodic rock/classic rock bands - but it does have multiple rooms and could be a good east midlands alterntive to Rock City. if organisers wanna very venues and locations to try and keep fans happy. There is also a few venues in leicester that could do the job maybe The Musician?

Don't know Bedworth Civic Hall......

Obviously we can all throw our favourite venues names out there but at the end of the day it's up to the organisers wether they use them or not, a lot depends on the venue's willingness and tour budgets as well as the venue's been viable gig destinations for audience turnout. Just have to hope and pray....

Just a little worried that Rock City will monopolise Midlands gigs and those of us in the midlands will have to travel there.

As there is no wheelchair access at Rock City, it's not even an option for me to go to gigs there. I was gonna have to Grimsby for the Houston/Crashdiet tour....so obviously as big live music fan i'm worried that gigs by some bands may not only mean overnight stay's but also well outside the Midlands (as a whole not just the west).
