I know the band changed it up after they reformed (got sober) and after the 'warm-up' that was Done With Mirrors. BUT-- they brought themselves into the 80's and achieved far more success than even before. I like both 'phases' of the band,if you will. The songwriting of newer releases,albeit with help from co-writers,is another level from their 70's albums. Not sayin' it's as preferable to any given fan,but much more polished and 'current'. I think that's what fans disliked about Just Push Play--too overdone in the studio. I can see that,but I still liked most of that cd. the core sound of the band is still there,and some/most tunes are quite strong,IMO. Looking forward to whatever they come up with. Hey,if they can pull off a Night Ranger-then we'd all be happy! T
