Coverdale-Into The Light revisited

Just giving this a relisten after quite awhile away. You know,I think I like this cd more each time I revisit it. It came off as a bit too mellow overall back then, but since then it's really kept growing on me. I guess after all the bombast that became Whitesnake as of '87,this just seemed so laid back for ol' Dave. But these tunes are so quality, and the rockers I've always loved anyway. With all the big attention for the new Whitesnake,I guess I just needed to hear something from back when. And a buddy of mine is loaning me all the early 'Snake stuff. Only have the catalog from Slide It In on (plus Come n' Get It on vinyl,I think). I think it's cool how Coverdale stretched out his vocal chops after Slide It In-very much dexterity there. Unfortunately,it has it's detriments/strains on tour-espescially as he's aged. Still, great to still have them out there releasing great new hard rockin'blues for us. Who'd have thought these bands would still be rockin' it in the new millenium! Awesome! :-) T
