I disagree. All the updates were better except for Fool For Your Loving. And the problem there wasn't with Vai's contribution but rather with the horrible rhythm section. Both Tommy Aldridge and Rudy Sarzo skated by on reputation for years when in reality, their playing lacked feel and groove. Aldridge just blasted through everything, and Sarzo's parts were generally unmemorable on every project.
