Re: Here I Go Again 87 remix

I'm in the US, and being someone who was friends with someone who worked in radio at the time, I know both versions got radio play. The album version got played on the "Rock" (now "Classic Rock") stations, while the single mix was played at "Pop" (or CHR = Chart Hit Radio and Top 40) stations.
Pretty much the way it's been for a long time, which was why the "87remix" version of the song, and other alternate "single" versions of songs, are created in the first place.
Also, I worked in a music store then (and for many years). We'd always get people looking for a song they "heard on the radio", but being disappointed that when they bought the album, the version on it didn't match the one they were hearing on the radio. The reason? It depended on which station they were listening to. It got to the point where we'd ask people what station they heard the song on, so we could direct them to buy the correct version they wanted. The single (as it was a different mix, usually only available in that format), or the album.
You may not have heard it because you only listened to "Rock" stations, and not "Pop" ones.
