Why worry? They didn't use him in the end. Steinman has said he was confused as to why the band didn't let the drummer play on the records, but used programmed drums instead. He said Allen was perfectly capable, so why not let him play?
All history now anyway. Although if you listen to Lillian Axe 'Love & War', I imagine THAT's what Leppard could have sounded like with a Steinman production.
