A number of things. Even though rock bands enjoyed decent "shed tour" success the music was still coming off of being on the out. Funny thing is I also happened to play Arrival the other day and was shocked why this wasn't a bigger record.
Another reason is that if memory serves me it was all over the net for like 6 months before it saw an official release. Now Dennis Deyoung also did this recently by releasing in Canada and then taking over a year to release it in the states....more releases come out people forget.
With people uploading to the net one strategy should be to not releases a promo or single until the record is in the can and made and ready to sell.
AC/DC had like 500,000 illegal downloads but the record can out legal like 3 weeks later...still hot in peoples mind.
And yes the price it sells at Walmart and the added bonuses make it a good deal whether you buy hardcopy or digital.
