The answer, the band had more control.

'Columbia' released 'Arrival' so virutally no promo just straight into the stores, no video just word of mouth and sold at shows etc...

'Generations', well Frontiers did their best but again not the big push it should have had for considering the leap over into Europe touring wise and considering this band are as massive as it gets in AOR, they should have been crossing over into prime time radio had they been given the promo push but I think it was more about sales than pushing the record wider, the reviews were good.

'Revelation', they seem to have had more control on what to do with this one and have just hit it right, remember there was a few months hype b4 it was released just as Arnel joined and all the youtube crap, which added to the excitement, plus more touring again in Europe and some major festival slots, however has it been that huge success? has it done more than 'Arrival'? I don't think the added disc has made a differance to sales, most Journey diehards would have bought it anyway.
