This has been going on for DECADES.

It used to be the old 'Japanese Import' scam with vinyl albums. I got stung with the MSG - One Night At Budokan album when it was advertised as being a Japanese release only, with the accent on the *only* part.
So what do I do? I rush out and but the Jap double gatefold album at about £30....and back then that was a shit load of money for a vinyl album.
Next thing you know.........there's a European release scheduled. It sold well enough on the import so they then release it across the UK and Europe, priced at the usual retail [ I forgot what albums cost back then....probably around £7 - £8.
That wasn't the first and it won't be the last. Nowadays it's the 'Deluxe Edition' scam or the 're-released with bonus tracks tour edition'.
Same ols shit.
