Re: Getting F@#ked by Cheap Trick

You need to get your anger vented in the right place. I understand your annoyance, but you didn't get screwed by the band. To blame them personally is pretty ridiculous.
For one, if anything, you got screwed by Music Today, who handled the shipping & distribution for the pre-release, and, which really did waaaaaaay overcharged on shipping costs. Unfortunately, that's how that company makes it's profits. I didn't like it either, but no one forced us into choosing that option. You, I, and anyone else who decided to get the disc early could have just waited to see what the retail store pricing would be. And if if was that much of any issue, maybe you should have. However, that would be YOUR fault, not Cheap Trick's.
Secondly, as stated, you also got the disc almost a full month before everyone else did, too - so whether you realized it or not, that's one of the reasons why it may have ended up costing more. On another plus side, you were able to get it in a jewel case with better packaging than it's getting for the standard retail release - which is super crappy, cardboard digi-pack stuff that I hate. Not even a plastic tray to hold the disc in the case, just a pocket in the cardboard. And yes, I know this because I've seen it, personally.
Lastly, it's NOT Cheap Trick's fault that BEST BUY choose to sell the CD for such a low price. That's BEST BUY's issue if BB is selling it far below cost. Again, not the band's fault. Most other retailers aren't selling it for that cheap, and the MSRP is around $14.
Just trying to put it into perspective.
