I thought Tall Stories were one of the bands of the weekend - it's just that they're so much more laid back than anybody else even Valentine. TS just breezed on & were finished way too soon. The songs from the debut were better than I expected & those from TSII were great too - particularly Clementine (is that a song about Mr Augeri's shade of fake tan ?). After Tall Stories I didn't need another dose of party rawk so I left.
White Sister - loved every single second - if there was one band that I have ever seen that I wished for the chance to see again it was this lot & right now I could die happy.
Burn - we're lucky to have a band as good as this in the UK at the moment. fingers crossed they'll get the opportunity to play more often & further afield.
H.E.A.T - From this performance forget abot Wig Wam etc. I'll be getting tickets for the Edguy tour. Best of luck to their frontman - get well soon. Thanks to Pekka & the guy from Eclipse (another band I'll have to check out)
JSS - Having seen Jeff so many times over the last couple of years I got exactly what I expected - the guy's a consumate frontman & the band are phenomenal but there were no surprises.
Rox Diamond - I'd never heard anything by this band before & I doubt that I was the only one as the reaction was muted but I'm going to get hold of their albums because they sound like my kind of band - Prophet / mid 80s Kansas.
Valentine - didn't have the impact of last year but still great & the new album is excellent - bought it Saturday & must have played it 20 times - fabulous.
Mitch Malloy / Paul Laine / Tyketto - still don't get it - enjoyed all 3 & would be happy to see them again if they were opening for somebody else but it's not for me.
Loud & Clear - didn't quite do it for me - like the second album, the songs from the debut sound too party for my tastes but I bought the compilation CD they had & I'll give it another go.
Talon / PC69 / David Readman - glad they were there, glad I've seen them but not to my taste.
