What a fantastic Sunday we had.
First artist we saw was Mitch Malloy. Now the self titled CD did nothing for me at the time. To soft, female backing singers, sax etc. But Mitch Malloy playing these songs live without the frills was nothing short of spectacular. The crowd were really in to it as well.
White Sister. What can I say, is it really 21 years since I last saw these. Awesome tunes, stage image left a bit to be desired i.e. one looked like a body popper, one a confederate and another had more hair than when I saw them all those years ago. Before anyone has a go I know it's the music not the image that counts. They seemed a little rusty (understandable as they hadn't played together for 20 years) but what a pleasure to hear these songs live and loud with good banter and crowd participation. I'm biased, but they were still the band of the day for me.
Tall Stories. Oh dear !. Yes I do own the CD and love it. I was looking forward to seeing them live. Mr Augeri and his band were a real let down. poor delivery and no interaction with the crowd. weak all around. Sorry, as Mr Augeri is apparently a very nice man.
Danger Danger. Always deliver and they engaged the crowd. Also an excellent set list.
Firehouse. Enjoyable as the last time I saw them. Would have prefered an extra song rather than a drum solo. A good professional show closing performance.
Finally I would like to thank the organisers. Everything appeared to run smoothly, which probably belies the hard work and effort that was put in. Thanks again.
