Re: Def Leppard/ Whitesnake Newcastle

Hiya mate, yeah we were indeed there.
I actually thought Whitesnake were atrocious, Coverdale's voice was totally shot and the shot, at least were I was standing was equally as bad, bass heavy with hardly any guitars. At times I even thought the band were rather messy and unfocused which was surprising.
Surprisingly enough, given I thought when the tour was announced that Whitesnake would blow Def Leppard off stage, the Leps IMO were the better band, not great by any means, but better.
One thing though, despite being billed as a co-headline it was plain that DL had the best of everything and WS were acting as an opening band. The Leps a better stage set, better video screens, lights and sound whereas WS seemed to have restricted use of the available facilities.
Actually, for me at least, the best band of the night were BSC who simply blew the two more established acts out of the water.
Cheers
