Just as a side note to this whole debate.....

Isn't prog all about wankery? (this isn't a dig as my old band had more than its fare share of prog wankery)

I just don'r understand the majority of calls from 'prog' fans who are disliking the new Dream Theater album because its too much 'musicianship'(isn't that the same as wankery?).

Its not like Yes and Genesis ever did songs that were 20 minutes long huh?

Hee hee and just to add fuel to the fire...I severely dislike 'old prog'. I hate all those early Yes and Genesis albums (sorry Phil), yes the musicianship is there, but its all too lightweight for me. Dream Theater dragged prog into the new millenium and gave it the kick it needed.

P.S. I also have to add that I don't count It Bites. The could also write some amazing 'hard' yet clever 'pop' songs.
