I totally understand all posts here and this is my 2 cents - especially as E-Z Sounds is a new label in the UK.
Yes it is very hard work and expensive to get your product out to the buying public. However we do it because we enjoy good music and wish to share it with others. We can only keep on trying and improving on our past "glories". However, it is also hard work to get people in the industry to take notice of us. For example we are trying to build a database of webzines, etc for reviews, interviews, etc - but half of the people we contact don't even answer our emails asking them for a postal address to send a promo pack - we are prepared to send out CDs, etc to help generate a few more sales.
It is also hard work to set up a distribution deal for the label - with many distribution companies replying that they cannot do anything with product. These are companies that are supposed to be in it for the music and release other products that are not a million miles away from what we are trying to release... And this is where many new bands may have problems too.
At times you feel like banging your head against the wall...
