I read an interview with Mike DiMeo regarding the latest Riot album "Army Of One". He said that Mark Reale didn't want anybody else singing on it so he would rather wait for Mike to be able to take time out for the recordings. Mike also said in the same interview that although he is more into the bluesier side of rock and traditional hard rock than metal, he enjoyed being a part of Riot.

Now, he is joining Masterplan...a band which is heading in a more metal sounding direction.

Two things come to mind. What happens with Riot? I read that Roland Grapow didn't want Jorn to do other projects while he was a part of Masterplan....I hope he doesn't want DiMeo to commit only to this band. The other thing is, I'm having a hard time imagining how it would sound with DiMeo in Masteplan. Might work out very well, who knows.

What I do know is that Mike DiMeo is a VERY competent hard rock/metal singer. One of my favourites right now. I wish him good luck and I hope he'll still take time out for recording new albums with Riot....'caus the latest album is a monster.
