Now we know how you Poms felt for the last two decades. To be honest it won't be such a bad thing if your lot win this series. The Aust. Cricket Board will finally have a reason to offload some dead wood (i.e. Hayden, Martyn, Gillespie, Kasper). The problem with the Aust. cricket side is once you're in you have to die before they'll even consider replacing you. Also worrying is the choice of selectors - Merv Hughes!!! Sure if you're picking a drinking team, but a cricket side is a different matter altogether.
At the end of the day there is plenty of good young Aussie talent in our domestic comp., which far and away is the best in the world. Batsmen like Phil Jacques, Chris Hartley, Marcus North, the Husseys, etc. are all good enough to play test cricket. Test standard bowlers might be thin on the ground though Damien Wright (the swing bowler we've desperately needed since Fleming's retirement) down Andrew's way in Tasmania could easily make the step up as well as a few lads in W.A. and N.S.W.

More immediately, some rain of biblical proportions wouldn't go astray about now in Nottingham.
