You don't get it, it's not about me...if the americans are so proud of being world police and setting Saddam straight, then why did they choose to let Tutsis be slaughtered for months before doing anything ?
And when did I make a summation of any conflict ? Dude, you got to stop smoking that stuff...all I've said was that the US is not helping in the Israeli-Palestine conflict madness, by supporting the state terrorism of Israel and condemning the suicide bombings of palestinians...I'm not happy about innocent Israelis dying, but I'm not happy about (for example) Israeli soldiers killing and maiming palestinian children on a rather large and premeditated scale either, so I can understand somewhat the rage of suicide bombers. Nowhere in there is an equal sign to me saying I hate americans.
You have a point about "sweeping generalizations". It's quite disturbing to consider that the division of the people in that region of Africa is a wholly superficial one made by Belgian colonisers- and that it's been perpetuated since by those peoples themselves. I don't defend such thinking in any way. But, all coins have flipsides, and there are of course bad and not very useful "sweeping generalizations" and necessary/helpful "sweeping generalizations" we can't live without. See the other post.
You are quite mistaken about GW Bush's contributions to stability in any of those regions you name. Then again, perhaps your concept of stability includes poverty, disease, homelessness, warfare, people getting murdered because they choose to make themselves available for government service or to be electable etc etc. In such case, you're right, thank you GW!
