So you are dismissing what he says because it doesn't support what you want to believe...got it! End of discussion should probably be there, really.
No, I am dismissing what he says because....
1) His claims haven't been backed up by anyone else. Not the band. Not music journalists. Nobody.
2) People connected to the organization say he has become a depressive primadonna pain in the ass and his online outbursts back that up.
3) It makes ZERO sense that he is forced there against his will like a slave while accompanied by a personal stylist decking him out in designer clothes. I'm sorry but this doesn't sound like Dickensian poor house working conditions.
I also didn't believe Perry's one-sided hip excuses.
You are free to believe whatever you want.
I just don't have that much sympathy for a 60 year old man jet-setting the world living his dreams.

But clearly talking about a time when he was still in the band...
Over the course of SA's tenure, they had auto-tune and tapes and shared vocals. On his last tour, they had tapes AND everyone (Cain, Ross, Neal) sharing the load. How much more help can a singer get?

So? He didn't want to be fired. He just wanted a rest for his voice so that he didn't have to mime. Not an unreasonable request for a singer....
He was already miming sporadically before 2005.

See above. Why would he want to leave what is the most lucrative job of his career?
You said it yourself. To rest his voice and get healthy. If I am truly sick, I want off the road ASAP. Instead, this full blown milli vanilli charade went on for MULTIPLE tours (2005 Gens, UK, start of Def co-tour).
Look at the various singers in Chicago who have bailed because of toxic environments - Jeff, Neil etc. it's called having integrity.

It's not rocket science to work out, is it. And there's no proof that they didn't either. Augeri practically says it, without saying it bluntly.
You just invent things (Neal threatened Pineda! Augeri was forced to tour!). You are throwing around some large accusations without evidence. Vibes aren't proof.

Because that's not how bands work. I'm not sure how or why you think they wouldn't have discussed in depth Augeri's vocal problems with him and with each other. It's their livelihood at stake. Of course they did. They would have been fully aware with what was going on with him medically.
If a precedent had already been set (and it had) on prior tours with their sound guy (Elson) using tapes as needed, why would they (Cain/Schon) suddenly get involved now? Neal said he didn't even have Augeri in his inner ears because he had gotten so bad over time.

The solution would be don't use tapes in the first place and let your singer rest and recover properly, but they had already screwed that one up...
They had been using tapes as early as 2004 on some songs. Auto-tune was used as early as 2003. The Vegas 2000 DVD had to be completely redone in a studio AND with pro tools. Nothing was going to change.
