I disagree, although I do see the point you’re making…I haven’t outgrown anything. I honestly think the band has regressed and got worse lyrically. As another poster said, the first couple of albums were great. The video to Death to All but Metal was genius, especially at the end with the trying to explain it’s not butt metal. That was first class, on the nose humour that had intelligence and was spot on observationally.
Balls Out was every bit as good and still stayed on the right side of the nod and a wink approach to the lyrics. After that, for whatever reason, they ditched the subtlety and just got way too coarse and far too obvious and it just doesn’t work as a parody any longer. They need to be smarter and stop with the lowest common denominator stuff.
