Terry - I think that's the best description given for the 2nd era. What they were known for or were labeled as during their peak was certainly some of the cheesy 80's hair sound. But, they certainly aren't that now and have moved a bit far off center the other way, consciously or not, swinging the pendulum farther in the opposite direction, away from the 80's pomp.
