Was quite big news Terry. Especially after the MTV fiasco with Roth. The rumour i heard at the time was it was either Cherone or Eric Martin. I think Hagar joining in 1985 had a bigger chance of being successful than Cherone had in 1996. 80s was a golden time plus MTV and music video.....Cherone joining in 1996 didn't really stand a chance....Post grunge, mtv going down the shitter, VH3 album being too different and the aftertaste of the 1996 MTV debacle which left many VH fans reeling.
