The VH singles were very commercial during the Sammy years sure, but it's not that different from the Dave years - Jump, I'll Wait, Pretty Woman, Dance The Night Away, Dancing In The Street, Jamie's Crying etc etc etc all had a very, very commerical sound to them.

People seem to focus on the singles in the Hagar-era forget about songs like Judgement Day, Get Up, Good Enough, Sucker In a 3 Piece, Seventh Seal, etc etc - all of which rock just as hard and anything from the Dave era.
