Van Halen III 25th anniversary

March 17th 1998, this album arrived.
It's 25 years old today. The upside for me was that an Aussie tour was announced and I saw em in Melbourne and Sydney. Both great shows, and an awesome setlist. Gary just didn't suit the bill with the John Travolta dancing and the dress suit.
The album was a long anxious wait. Expectations weren't so big either. I was right. A cuppla good tracks "Without you" , "Once". "Fire in the hole " had a great outro. But the rest was not so good. Eddie had full control and was calling the shots. Gary wasn't singing natural . Mike was barely in studio. The producer, Mike Post was a TV theme man, not a rock music producer. The whole idea was shambles.
Still, it is what it is. It was the last VH studio album released on a consistent basis and most of the tracks freshly created.
