Thanks everyone. I'll add to my playlist.
alfie. That was my favorite line in the song too. My dad always bugged me to cut my hair, but he still let me be me.
So far today I have added:
Cat Stephens - Father and Son
Mike & The Mechanics - The Living Years
Bruce Springsteen - My father's house
I also added a bunch from Jon Bon Jovi's blaze of glory, just because that was one of the only rock albums in my collection my dad truly liked.
He was an old school hank williams sr type country fan and hated a lot of my "screaming like a girl" music. I would take over his radio on road trips and the only ones he really liked were Jon Bon Jovi, some early Sammy Hagar, Riverdogs, Tesla's five man acoustical jam, and random songs from other artists when I did mix tapes.
He hated my favorite album VH-5150 from the opening scream of Heloooo baaaaby. He still tolerated it and let me play it all the time. He never would admit it, but I think it low-key grew on him after a while. Especially because he was a pilot in the U.S. Navy and I showed him the video of "Dreams" with the Blue Angels. That won him over.
