I was wondering how many minutes is enough for you for a song. With my ADD / short attention span, I find myself getting irritated at songs that go over 5 minutes. And quite honestly, 5 is my limit, I would rather songs be no longer than 4 minutes. Some songs like "The Final Countdown" will have crazy long intros, some like "Lovestruck" will have some 2 minute guitar solo at the end that pisses me off, and others just have too many parts, verses, or repeat the chorus too long. I like my music to be consolidated into a 4 to 5 minute package at the most, and then move on to the next song.
Back when rock music started, average length was about 2 and a half minutes. That's too short. In my opinion 3 minutes and 45 seconds is the perfect song length.
Any opinions about this? Do any of you get bored into the 6th minute of a song? I literally have software called "Sound Forge" and I use it to cut out intros and outros all the time. It's an amazing power to have over my listening music.
