Re: Who was the best support band you ever saw?

Tesla was great every time I saw them open shows for other bands early on - Def Leppard, David Lee Roth, and Poison.
However on their first headlining tour for Psychotic Supper, when they played here Firehouse opened and killed it. Tesla came out, saw the half empty arena, and just phoned it in.
Others I enjoyed a lot:
WASP opening for KISS
Queensryche for Metallica
Kix for Ratt
Warrant for Motley Crue
Damn Yankees for Bad Company
Extreme for ZZTop
Skid Row for Van Halen and Guns 'n Roses
Not sure if it's worth a separate thread or not, but the strangest opener/headliner combination had to be Suicidal Tendencies opening for Queensryche on the Empire tour. We had third row for the show in Milwaukee which is one of the three filmed by Wayne Isham for the Operation: Livecrime box set.
