Mitch has said that the record company pushed him into doing that album. They gave him an ultimatum that he would have to go the Adult contemporary direction or another which I forget now or loose his record contract. So he choose the Michael Bolton route.

He's a great singer but as a songwriter he misses more than he hits. If he had some outside writers/collaborators I think he could put out a hell of an album.
