I've listened to it twice now, and I agree that it is a big step up from Narnia. Time will tell whether it rises to the level of Scarecrow for me.
I appreciate that they have shaken things up a bit by making the vocals more Boston-like. And I think the Styx influence shines through more than ever-- take away the references to Apple and Android and Marionettes could be a long lost song from the Grand Illusion, while Queen of the Neverland could easily fit in on Equinox.
The combo of Dive and Spaceship Superstar is the most kick-ass opening to an album I have heard in a long time, as if they felt the need to announce "this is a ROCK album". But I'm not sure why they put the two slowest songs next to each other near the end. A bit of a drop-off in intensity there, but not nearly as much as in Narnia.
My only real complaint is that they seem to have sold out of those cool octopus t-shirts on their website.
