I was referring more to the impact of the movie than new music. The Crue had a story and image that lent itself well to a movie that young people would like. I don't see that in Foreigner, or Deep Purple for that matter.

As for new music, some bands are able to make new music and appeal to new generations of listeners, and some don't. There can be any number of reasons why a band would fall into one category or another. One thing is consistancy...if Foreigner put out a new album next year, what good would it do them if they didn't play any of the songs live and then waited another 10-15 years to do another one? Not much.
