Re: Gigs solution?

The situation at the moment is obviously terrible for bands and venues.
The thing is I still go to, or at least did, quite a few gigs every year. For me, it's all about the atmosphere, the sound, meeting up with like-minded people and having a few beers etc. Spacing folks out is all very well, and obviously I understand the reasoning, but I'm not sure you'd keep the feel and atmosphere.
I've no interest at all in streamed live shows and I could probably watch 10 a day at this moment in time (not so much rock but country and Americana acts are streaming everywhere), IMHO I don't see the point, it's not live music to me. A good idea as a much-needed revenue stream for artists but it really doesn't work for me. I still feel live music should be an event, a night out, not something I can watch on youtube.
Purely a personal opinion. Hopefully, we'll get back to the old model eventually but sadly I have a feeling that's a long way off.
