Nah Steve I wasn't suggesting Vai was the logical next step only that Coverdales wailing was perhaps logical given the OTT era we found ourselves in ;)

While maybe on paper Vai appeared a novel idea potentially also taking that OTT route, no it wasn't such a natural choice and I completely understand all the backlash they received and continue to receive.

However that said I cannot help but continue to love the record for both nostalgia and sheer enjoyment it brings even today ;)
