I tend to like a fair number of the Frontiers releases, but if they're genuinely inquiring as to what the common criticisms are, it surely isn't that complicated, is it?
They tend to use the same people a lot for writing, producing, etc. Spread these jobs around a little more. Get some more/different people involved. Get the artists to do more of their own writing. This isn't necessarily going to improve the quality of the songwriting (IMHO), but at least it will result in the company's releases sounding less "samey."
And, as has already been mentioned, perhaps focus a little less on projects, or at least find a way of making the projects into actual working/playing/gigging acts. Put a couple of 'em together on a bill and/or a tour.
Aren't those pretty much the two major criticisms directed towards this label?
