Used to be one of my top 3 bands. Never saw the problem with Gary's voice (maybe people are hearing something I don't?) and the cock-rock songs aside, I think his lyrics are generally a significant cut above the quality you get in this genre. I do feel that the post-Far Beyond the World albums are patchy and there's some repetition in the songwriting, but there are always a handful of excellent tracks on each album. Aside from the first 5 or 6 albums, I think some of Gary's best work has been with Bob Catley and I actually preferred the Serpentine album he did to the Ten albums that came out at the same time. Appreciate everyone's tastes are different but I don't understand the outright hatred.
