For me, I prefer the more bluesy Whitesnake and I think 1987 has a bunch of filler. In fact, I think there are some better songs on Good To Be Bad and Forevermore over 1987 and Doug Aldrich has proven to be a great co-writer with Coverdale.
Even when the album came out - I thought most of Side 2 was just OK. It sold a ton because of the hits, but album vs. album - Slide It In is much better.
Great:
Crying In The Rain
Still Of The Night
Good
Bad Boys
Straight For The Heart
Don't Turn Away
Meh
Give Me All Your Love
Children Of The Night
Is This Love
Here I Go Again (to be fair, I am just sick of it now)
