If that's what you prefer, fine - but you are obviously in the EXTREME minority.
Even fans of Blue Murder think the second album is a huge drop off from the first, which is absolutely true. No way that album or any further album by Sykes compete with David Coverdale's output.
Just in terms of guitar heroes - people have not been impressed with Sykes beyond 1987 and the first Blue Murder. That's pretty much where his legacy ends, because his solo albums haven't lived up to that work and his new album doesn't make the case for how great Sykes is either.
Sykes needs Coverdale - far more than Coverdale needs Sykes.
