Deep Purple Mach I: Nick Simper on bass. Rod Evans on vocals. the first three albums are actually more intricate/challenging musically than the Gillan/Glover era. These guys could play rings around most bands even at that early age. Those albums may not be 'heavy' like Mach II,but they certainly are heavy for the times (pre 1970). Great stuff! T
