Re: Bon Jovi "BB" MR review

I don’t generally comment on reviews like many, I don’t comment too often, period. Is it a 10%, no. Is it masterpiece, hell no! Minimal effort from JBJ, hell yes! And he may be thinking to hell with any effort on packaging because 95% of his fans who buy it are going to download it from iTunes and don’t care about the liner notes and packaging anyway. It is a stick it to the record label, no effort release. But, over time how many other bands have phoned in a crappy album or sent in a greatest hits w/a couple new tracks to fulfil a contract? They didn’t take crap that JBJ is here, and trust me, I am no BJ fanboy and frankly, I can’t stand much of what they have put out since KTF. But, I actually find myself liking 3-4 tracks, and that’s more than the last album. I quite like the bonus Walmart track which not everyone can get unless they check it out on YT. Is it classic BJ, no way, but it’s better than a lot of the shite they’ve been putting out there over the past few years and has a nice upbeat vibe, even with a much more "pop" sound.
For the crowd on MR, BJ can be a polarizing band. Everyone wants the heyday BJ when they still rocked (I do) and Jon wasn’t trying to be a solo artist under the bands moniker, which imo sums up the last 10 years of BJ. If they don’t deliver another Wanted or Lay Your Hands, many aren’t happy. That being said, I see bands on here (some, not all) that frankly suck or sound like carbon copies of each other or every other “hairband” era group being praised when I can hardly get through the sample. So be it, to each their own, because at the end of the day it’s all subjective. And at the end of the day, regardless to what any of us think, since it says BJ on the package it's going to sell a ton and most soccer moms are going to have wet panties thinking of Jon shaking his ass on stage, his bleeched smile and fond memories of crushing on him back when they were young in Jr. High and High School. That's who he's pandering to these days, not the diehard MR fan. Soon, like Andrew surmises in a different post, I bet Azoff gets the band back together for a massive reunion tour that pads their already huge bank accounts, and Jon rides off into the sunset to write his mediocre solo stuff and be a Springstein wannabe.
