Sounds a decent song to me though yeah I do get the likeness to 'Gotta Be Somebody' by Nickelback (which is the only similarity to them in the song really).
This is post 2000 Bon Jovi and I like it (but not as much as 80s/90s Bon Jovi). Maybe some folks need to just move on and give up on a return to the old style.
For me I'd agree with comments that recent albums always have at least 3 or 4 top quality songs on them but too much filler (Have a Nice Day aside which is just fantastic throughout and up there with BJ's best!). The band are still superb live (played for nearly 3 hours at Villa Park 2 years ago without barely a guitar or drum solo 10 minutes filler that pretty much every other rock band does and bores me to tears at times - just relentless hit after hit and some rare gems too).
For me JBJ's easy to slate but writes great songs still and does pretty darned well for a 50+ year old I think if he can do nearly 3 hours live with about 2 or 3 shirt change 5 mins breaks. He also dares to write positive songs with uplifting lyrics often too rather the usual negative heartbreak sweary content that fills so many albums. Something to be admired and respected in my view.
