The Coalminers’ Beat was a German alternative rock band formed in 1987. The group, originally known as Dirty Minds, consisted of Stefan Meissel, Gregor Schmidt, Vox Jaus, Kai Seifried, and Andreas Mayer. They transitioned to Irish-Folk-Rock with their first album Welcome to the Miners' Party (1992). Their breakthrough came with "Land of Green" from The Coalminers’ Beat (1993), which was released as a single under Sony Music Germany after the band signed with Andreas Läsker. The group's third album, Colourblind (1995), marked a shift towards rock and alternative genres. Following several years of touring, they left Sony Music to release Next to Nothing (1997) independently. After releasing Waterproof (1998) under Semaphore Records, which went insolvent shortly after its production, the band continued with Daily Dose of … and LIVE '97/'98 (both 2000). The Coalminers’ Beat disbanded on December 22, 2001.

I saw the reunion w/ Tommy live in 1996 and the show was great. But I never listened to Brave New World.

I heard Cyclorama once or twice when it came out but it didn't stick.

Those aside though I gotta shout out for their last couple Favourite Pleasures and Hombres which both offer some stellar material up there with their heyday IMO. Say what you will but fer my ears Dante is killing it these days as close as we could hope for without a Mark Rankin fronted GUN, I mean the music the tunes are all there for example 'Falling' is one of their best tunes period IMO.
