It has come to our attention that Carl Dixon, Golden Age Rock Festival, and 7er Club Mannheim are currently advertising live dates under the name “Carl Dixon’s Coney Hatch” - specifically, September 19 in Liège, Belgium, and September 20 in Mannheim, Germany.

While we remain fully committed to our fans, we want to make it clear that any event marketed in this manner is unauthorized by the other 3 original members of Coney Hatch. Andy Curran, Dave Ketchum and Steve Shelski are not involved in any way with these performances and multiple versions of Coney Hatch do not exist.

Carl should be proud of his contributions to Coney Hatch, however, he alone does not have the right to advertise performances using other original band members’ names or use the band’s trademark, likeness and logo.

We wish to clarify that we are not responsible for ticket sales, cancellations or the quality of these shows, as they do not feature the full lineup or an official production. Legal counsel has been notified to ensure the protection of the band’s intellectual property.

I've spun the tracks a lot over the years and am really familiar with them.

I like owning things, doing my own edits, etc, so I mostly use Spotify to discover new artists/bands. But I was out just now and decided to play the album on a whim. I first noticed is that the order was a little different (e.g., Lessons in Love was track 9 here instead of #4, etc). Whatever, maybe this happens sometimes with international editions and the like.

To my surprise, some of the music is different too! I'm not done listening, but it seems like some songs like Driving Wheels are identical, while others have different instrumentation. This kinda stopped me in my tracks because it's the same damn album.

For example, "Do or Die" starts with a fat pulsing synth that was never in my copy of the album. And my mix is muddier - on Spotify, you can hear the tinkle of the honky tonk style keys up front wheres my album has them buried in the back. Aside from differences in the actual music, the sonics sound remastered to my ears; brighter and punchier.

Or take "Seven Days" - I had never heard Jimmy ad-lib "Won't be long now, hey!" at the beginning, which was apparently erased in my CD, after which some of the instrumentation varies. Etc.

Weird. Haven't done a full side-by-side comparison, but I'm preferring the version on Spotify.

As far as I can tell, the good one that everyone else has is from Mushroom Records and I have the Geffen one... as with so many other examples, I guess Geffen decided to subtly dumb down and shittify the music for the American market?

I put this up yesterday in my YouTube channel "The Red zone". Ofcourse, I didn't squeeze everything in I wanted to say, but the new deluxe is incredible. I know alot of people aren't happy that "Live without a net" on cd is heavily edited, but I think that's why they called it simply "Live in New Halen 86", cause it is so heavily edited, and not exactly "LWAN". I still can't believe they edited out parts of Eds solo. How did Al authorise that??
We just have to accept aswell that we aren't going to get things we wish for when it comes to VH and with Al calling the shots.
But I express my feelings here, and try get everything out in the quick time that I've had.
Forgive my speech, I've had a stammer all my life and suffered a mini stroke in 2012. I'm trying to get more in front of the camera to increase my confidence. Check out The Red Zone
