FnA Records releases 4 new albums to start off 2015: Forever Young, April Fool, Jax and Scarlet

FnA Records is starting out 2015 with 4 new wonderful releases from bands in the hard rock /heavy metal genre of the 80’s.

Forever Young was a fan-favorite on the Hollywood Sunset Strip music scene.  They were a band that had it all;  The Looks, The Sound, The Songs, and The stage presence to put on a memorable show.  Forever Young was formed in the late 80’s and quickly built up a solid reputation for the band.  They decided to go into the studio and enlisted Dokken bassist Jeff Pilson to record their 4 song debut EP.  The EP was released to rave reviews , power-ballad (“Can’t Get You Out Of My Mind’) and all.  National airplay followed leading the A&R scouts to court the band.  One brand new song, “Tonight”, was recorded in 2012 to round out the EP.  Jeff Pilson was again the engineer on the track and Keri Kelli (Alice Cooper,Ratt) mixed the song.

April Fool, is a momentous hair band from the Philadelphia area – the same scene that gave birth to Cinderella, Britny Fox, and Heavens Edge.  The band self-financed a demo cassette in 1989 called Playin’ To Win , which sold out of its first and second run.  Playin’ To Win (the 13 song LP on FnA Records) is the bands demos remastered with the addition of 2 never before released tunes.  “Cover Girls” is a bombastic single from the album which was also a fan-favorite and opportunity for the girls to strut their stuff.  The sound quality on Playin’ To Win is phenomenal considering it comes from the late 80’s.  April Fool is surely a band to check out for hard rock fans.

Jax was formed in New York in 1987 and quickly jet-setted into local popularity.  The guys in the band helped build a studio and were given studio time to record a six song demo at the studio.  The demos were engineered by  (Kiss Engineer) Danny Caccava. In 1988, Jax was given the opportunity to sign a production deal to be recorded at Hotline Studios (White Lion) with Erwin Musper producing (Def Leppard, Bon Jovi).  This fantastic run of luck led to the band be signed to CBS Records out of Germany for a worldwide release.  When CBS Records in the states found out that CBS Records from Germany signed a U.S. band right under their noses, political infighting began and the deal was ultimately dropped.  But this was Jax, a powerhouse trio that had the goods to hang with the big boys.  The band was offered 3 other major-label deals which all went belly-up.  Jax was being managed by Twisted Sister’s Jay Jay French and they used all their industry contacts to propel the Jax name, image, and sound.  During the 3 years that it took Jax to regroup, the music scene had changed, and a small under-sized indie label released the Jax album.  Not surprisingly, the Jax album garnered awesome reviews and radio play.  However, the time had passed and the Jax release became a highly sought after Collector’s item.  Now available in its entirty on FnA Records (www.fnarecords.net)

Scarlet, releases their second album in five years, Scarlet II, on their home label FnA Records.  Scarlet is a well-liked Christian Rock/Metal band in the vein of Stryper and Guardian.  Originally formed in 1983, the band won the opportunity to go into the studio and cut some songs..  The Song, “Stop Runnin’” started getting airplay and the bands momentum was further progressing as they were a top 4 finalist on MTV’s Basement Tapes contest.  The band recorded two more tracks, “Were Gonna Rock” and “I Declare War”, which also garnered radio airplay.  The band eventually went their own ways with Jeff McDonald going onto the popular Florida band St. Warren.  In 2010, Scarlet released their first album on FnA Records which got a big push from Christian Stores.  Now its 2014, and Scarlet have evolved, as has music, and they went into the studio and re-recorded 8 Scarlet originals with a new twist on them, and 5 brand new tracks.  Scarlet is proud of ROCKING for 30 Years (1984-2014).  Pick up both of their releases at FnA Records.
