Majestic Vanguard have their roots in the early 90's. Andreas Andersson, and later his brother Samuel Andersson joined up with a rock outfit from Falköping a small town in the south of Sweden. The drummer in the band was Daniel Eskilsson. This was the first meeting between them.
Some years later, Daniel, Samuel and Andreas were meeting accidentally in Falköping. They felt that their passion for “metal” was still burning, and decided to begin to play together again. The following years, they had to fight pretty hard to survive for private reasons.
Most of the time, the band consisted of a basic line-up incl. drums, bass and guitar. They also played with two guitars, or guitar and keyboard. This constant changing of instruments gave the Swedes time to develop a sound that would become the band's “signature sound” in the forthcoming years. The main aim for them at this point was to find a singer.
In the spring of 2003, the guys decided to give Peter Sigfridsson a chance to sing in the band. It all turned out very well. Peter had had no metal experience, but a voice that fitted perfect for melodic heavy metal. For the first time, they felt like a real band. This was the foundation of Divine Disciples.
Divine Disciples became anxious to record a demo tape. The recordings of the demo started in March 2004. The band in the following time sent the demo to some press people and record labels. Christian at Rivel Records/ Metal Heaven contacted Daniel Eskilsson almost immediately after receiving the demo and signed the band.
With this new situation for Divine Disciples, recording a full album and hopefully lots of forthcoming live performances to come, they decided to open up for a new member. In September 2004 Johan Abelson joined on 2nd guitar, and they decided to change the band's name to Majestic Vanguard.
“Beyond The Moon” finally was recorded between March and June 2005 at Studio X in Falköping, Sweden, and produced by Daniel Eskilsson.
